We all know that Google (with Chrome-ium) has at least close to 90% of the browser marketshare on the internet.
Which is your primary browser on your computer?
Remember that Brave, Opera and Edge are Chromium derivatives. I consider Safari to be separate since it's Webkit and not Blink.

@thegibson @tek interesting! That gave me hard time while I was setting up Matrix Synapse, but thatβs a fun project to try, Iβd be more than happy if I can squeeze my Mastodon instance on a Pi locally
@tek @thegibson youβll be hosting your instance locally, and youβll have to access it using the instanceβs domain name and thatβs when things get tricky with the local network configurations.

@tek @thegibson Would a Pi be powerful enough to handle an instance? π€
Also, the dns loopback is a nightmare to me!

@apLundell @Gargron what I meant by easier way to monetize was something like plugins that make it easy for followers to pay or somehow compensate the author.
I understand that Twitter didnβt do that, yet Mastodon is catching up with a huge community with a huge head start π€·ββοΈ

@Gargron thatβs bold, yet I believe 2 problems have to get solved before that becomes feasible.
1- Discoverability, itβs hard to find/follow interesting account on Mastodon
2- Easier way for monetization
@jussi glad they didnβt follow Chromeβs approach of limiting APIs for ad blocking extensions!
@popekingjoe Iβve been using 1Password to manage my familyβs passwords, but since Iβm trying to move to self-hosted services Bitwarden makes more sense! Thanks for the suggestion!
